Both the Legion of Honor and de Young are open to the public. Please read our safety guidelines.
Please join us for a very special lecture by famed Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass. Immediately following the presentation, guests are invited to enjoy a reception in the Hall of Antiquities. Dr. Hawass will sign copies of his most recent books, Discovering Tutankhamun: From Howard Carter to DNA, available for purchase at the museum store.
This event is part of our ongoing campaign to raise funds to acquire Seneb, an Egyptian carved-wood statuette of a scribe of the royal document, dating to the early Middle Kingdom (ca. 1985-1878 BC), one of the golden ages in Egypt's dynastic history.
Please help us to make the Legion of Honor, where the exceptional work of art is currently on view, its permanent home.
Ancient Art Council thanks our in-kind sponsors, Acme Bread Company and Fra'Mani Handcrafted Foods, for their generous and continued support.
