Thanks to a newly discovered archive of 1400 clay tablets from the Third Dynasty of Ur and written in the Sumerian cuneiform script, the fascinating life of a princess and her husband, a general and physician, has been revealed. From the building of their estate, the running of a complex plantation, the preparation of elaborate food and drink, the manufacturing and trade of clothing and shoes, to the death and funeral feast of her husband, the description of daily life has been unfolded in exquisite detail
