Following our fascinating online rehearsal in May of scenes from OEDIPUS TYRANNOS, we will present a rehearsal reading of Sophocles' rarely produced final play, OEDIPUS AT COLONUS. Written by the 90-year-old playwright while he was in exile from Athens, the play explores the final moments of Oedipus’ life, as he wrestles with the tragedy of his family and the pain of self-knowledge. Set in a sacred grove, COLONUS is a magical play about nature, nurture, and the end of life.
